I’m happy to share my favorite recipes here with you. These are the dishes I prepare for my family on a daily basis. I tend to be practical about preparing food and you will notice that in most dishes, the stars of the recipes are the vegetables. I’ll try to combine different vegetables in one dish or make stews because it’s all about eating lots of plants, fibers ánd variation. Taste is priority number one for me. Therefore I use lots of herbs and spices…they make the difference. Healthy and tasty really go hand in hand…you’ll see! Apart from tasty and healthy, the recipes are easy to prepare. In most of them you’ll find the health benefits of one or more ingredients. Ooh..and they’re all gluten free and most of them dairy free!

Chicken, leek and sweet potato casserole
To me this is the ultimate comfort food recipe...but it is also the perfect energy bomb - a combination of slow, fiber-rich carbohydrates, strengthening proteins (necessary to build our bones and muscles) and healthy fats! Fiber-rich carbs are the preferred food of our good gut bacteria. Loads of good gut bacteria make a healthy gut!! Well, the sweet potato, carrots, leeks and onions are the ideal benefactors of our gut.

Healthy Gluten Free Plum Cake
We bake this cake regularly and I guarantee you that it is sooo yummy it is impossible to keep your hands off it. I’ve used 3 different types of (gluten-free) flour and almost no sugar. The plums give the cake a delicious taste and make it a bit moist.
Chicken Musakhan my way, simple and delicious
This dish is originally from Palestina. The basic ingredients are chicken, red onion, Sumac, served on flatbread (which I’m leaving out). Since I’m always looking to add vegetables to each and every dish, I did the same with this one...and I think the ideal vegetable to complete my quick version of Musakah is: the eggplant.
